Welcome to the annual prize book of the Orangeville Fall Fair.
It has been my privilege to be representing the Orangeville Fair as the 2008-2009 Ambassador. I would first like to thank Karen McClellan, Aaron Whyte
and Ashley Duern for guiding me through as I tackle my duties, and pointing me in the right direction. I’d also like to acknowledge the Junior Ambassador,
Gabian Randeraad, for being my partner in crime.
It has been a great experience thus far to be able to encourage others, especially young people, to get involved in agriculture; and what a better way
than through the fall fair! It is a way to get educated in rural traditions, and inform the public of how things have changed and how important agriculture
is to everyone in and around our community. It was an honour to spend the 2008 fair season meeting both exhibitors and attendees of the Orangeville Fall
Fair, getting myself more involved in agriculture, and meeting other ambassadors at their fairs. The District 5 meeting was another great opportunity to
get to know my fellow ambassadors, and brush up on some public speaking skills!
I look forward to attending the rest of the year’s events, including the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Conference, the CNE, and
probably most importantly Agriculture Awareness Day for grade 3 students.
I hope to see everyone Labour Day weekend at the 2009 Orangeville Fall Fair and Ambassador Competition! Who knows what you’ll discover!
Sincerely,
Jocelyn Wilson
