Message from the Junior Ambassador

Even though the fair has been a great annual event for me and my family for as long as I can remember, the 2008 Orangeville fall Fair was better yet. After being chosen the Junior Fair Ambassador, the fun began right away, with handling out ribbons and prizes at the livestock shows, helping with the pedal tractor pull, throwing some horseshoes, taking part in the sheep show and posing for a few photos. The demolition derby and the stunt bike show were both action packed and great to watch.

Over the next few weeks, I was invited to some local fairs to bring greetings. This gave me a chance to meet other junior and senior ambassadors, mingle and enjoy their fairs. A one day conference gave me another chance to mingle again with more ambassadors and to get some public speaking tips. Lots has happened in my year so far. I am looking forward to Ag Awareness Day coming up this spring.

Being the junior Ambassador for Orangeville Fall Fair has given me the chance to do many of the things that I love: to continue being actively involved in the fair, talk to people about animals and agriculture, and to share my pride in our agricultural industry as a whole.

Wishing the Orangeville Fall Fair and all of members a great 2009!

Thank you for this opportunity.

Sincerely,
Gabian Randeraad
