Rules:
  1. Age MUST be clearly printed on the front of the entry tag. Enter only in your own age group or older.
  2. Read the rules carefully for what is required. Not following instructions may result in disqualification or lower placement.
  3. Youth fair exhibitors must have their own exhibitor number. No exhibitor fee will be charged for this class. An exhibitor fee of $5 will be charged if exhibitor wishes to show in open (adult) classes.
  4. Exhibitor tags must be firmly attached to work.
  5. One entry per exhibitor in each section and it must be recent work of the exhibitor.
  6. Baking must be on a sturdy plate in a clear plastic bag or covered in plastic wrap. Do not staple wrap to the plate.
  7. NOTE*: the work should be the work of the child!

  1. Draw a picture of a guitar.

  6. A craft that you made at school, the babysitter’s or with Mom.
  7. A necklace made from edible materials.

  7. Using cut out magazine pictures, show a healthy lunch and print a list of the items.

  5. Little Red Riding Hood’s basket with items she took to Grandma’s house.
  6. A funny, framed photo of your classmate or mates and explain the situation.
  7. Make an animal from beads and/or beans.
  8. Make a bear using burrs. Other items may be used to decorate the bear. Place in a closed plastic bag.
  9. Design a school playground from recycled items.
  10. Make a 'bling bling’ belt.
  11. KIDS CAN DO SPECIAL: An item made from K’Nex, (not from a kit). Not to exceed 50 cm x 50 cm. Please give a name to your creation.

  12. DUFFERIN COUNTY DAIRY PRODUCERS SPECIAL: Four (4) pieces of fudge Use the recipe that follows. Please have adult supervision during cooking. Fudge will be judged on taste and appearance.

    Fudge Recipe
    1 3/4 cups icing sugar
    1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    2 tablespoons milk
    1/4 cups cocoa
    1/4 cups butter
    Pinch of salt

    In a 4 cup (1L) measuring cup, stir sugar, cocoa, salt, milk and vanilla until partially blended. Put cut up pieces of butter on top. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir vigorously until smooth. Pour into wax paper lined loaf pan. Chill one (1) hour before cutting.

  22. O.A.A.S. YOUTH POSTER COMPETITION: There are 2 sections in this category:
    For Youth up to Grade 6 as of June 30, 2009.
    For all Youth Grade 7 to Grade 12 as of June 30, 2009
    Theme: “Promoting Orangeville Fall Fair”

    1. Poster: must be hand drawn.
    2. Minimum size 8.5” x 11” (23cm x 28 cm)
    3. Maximum size 12” x 18” (30.5 cm x 46cm)
    4. Please label clearly on the back of your poster – exhibitor’s name, school (or “home school”) and telephone number.
    5. Poster must be mounted on a black art card to give a 2” border.

    2. Cookies to be no larger than 3” (6.75 cm) and no smaller than 2” (5cm).
    3. Please firmly attach your completed entry tag to the plate.
    4. Entries will be judged on:
    - flavor (45 points)
    - presentation (25 points)
    - general appearance (15 points)
    - internal appearance (15 points)
