class 31: Bottled Goods

Rules:
  1. Label all jars with date (must be after September 1, 2008) and contents.
  2. Attach entry ticket to jar with elastic band.
  3. Make sure all jars are sealed – must use new lids and rings - will be disqualified if not. Note size of jars.
  4. No wax or wax paper to be used.
  5. All rules must be followed or entry will be disqualified.
  6. No food colouring to be used.
  7. Optional: Exhibitors may pick up their bottled goods, with the exception of the prize winners and specials, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m . on Friday or leave their exhibits as usual, until Monday at 4:30 p.m.
  8. Please bring your exhibitor registration form as confirmation of entry.

  18. DIRECTOR’S SPECIAL: The exhibitor in bottle goods with the most points in sections 1–28 only.

    This special may only be won three (3) consecutive years by the same exhibitor.
  19. BERNARDIN ‘BEST OF SHOW’ AWARD: The ‘Best Home Canning’ entry at the fair, submitted in a Bernardin mason jar and ‘Snap Lid’, as selected by the judge. Proof of purchase (UPC) must accompany entry.
    Prize: $20.00 Gift Certificate
  20. BERNARDIN JAM AWARD: Best jam in ½ pint, or metric equivalent, made with Bernardin Fruit Pectin. To be eligible, the entry must be accompanied by a proof-of-purchase (UPC symbol) from the above named products. May be an entry in Sections 1 - 6, variety to be named.

  21. BERNARDIN NATIONAL GIFT PACK COMPETITION: Note: “gift packs” need not be in baskets – be creative with your presentation.

    PARTICIPATION TERMS AND CONDITION: Use of Bernardin Mason Jar/Snap lid must accompany each entry, as proof of purchase. All entries will be judged on appearance, texture and creativity of recipe and/ or presentation. Winners’ name and address must be submitted with each entry for National Gift Pack contest prizes and these prizes will be sent directly to the winners.

  22. CERTO ‘BEST JELLY’ CONTEST: The best jelly in the fair, as selected by the judge. Proof of purchase of Certo Pectin must accompany entry. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture and recipe creativity.
